We treated all areas to kill the algae before power washing to remove, this one was particularly stubborn and required a second wash/treatment.
This detached property in County Laois was completely covered in algae due to its rural location and exposure to the elements on all four sides.
We cleaned the property in preparation for wall a coating which will seal the dashing and ensure easy maintenance in the future.
As you can see the cleaning/treatment was highly effective and the homeowner was delighted with the results.
Something we see a lot of in Ireland is this unsightly red, green & black algae. Organic matter/algae spores transported by the wind and rain land on and adhere to exterior surfaces then begin to grow.
All of the red bricked was meticulously masked off prior to spraying and WOW! doesn't it look good in the sun!
Modern wall finishes such as K-rend, Weber, monocouche, acrylic etc. are not as tough as traditional sand/cement renders. They are now commonly used in newbuild construction where high value insulation is in place. Due to the lack of heat escaping through the wall the outer surface remains cold and damp longer promoting algae growth & unsightly staining. These finishes can also damage very easily with high pressure.

Soft-wash 'rapid clean' chemical cleaning is a cost effective non aggressive approach. Often amazing results can be achieved on walls, UPVC, guttering, soffits & facia boards etc. Soft-wash biocide treatment is ideally suited to roof tiles and can be applied with the use of a Water fed pole, it will act to kill & control algae, moss & lichen naturally over time.
